Nicole Minnick, with the Kent County Sheriff’s Office (Transfer Crew), is recognized as the Kent County Quality Service Employee of the 2nd Quarter for helping to fulfill Kent County’s mission by providing quality service to citizens of Kent County.
The individual who nominated Nicole wrote:
“Where do I start? Nicole represents the Sheriff’s Department in a positive and professional light every day. I have observed Nicole work with children, whether she is giving a tour to elementary school age kids and talking about the judicial system or having to hold a child after they have been removed from a parent due to a custody hearing. Nicole also works daily in the courtrooms with inmates, civilians and judicial staff. I am proud to say that Nicole goes out of her way to make sure each and every one is treated with the utmost courtesy and respect. I would also like to say that during a recent medical emergency at the courthouse, Nicole discovered an inmate unresponsive due to a self-inflicted affixation. Nicole immediately began CPR and as a direct result of her actions saved the individual's life. On her days off, Nicole gives back to the community by volunteering her time at a local animal shelter. I know of no one more deserving than Nicole to be nominated for employee of the quarter. She holds the Sheriff’s Department and the County of Kent in the highest of standards.”
Number of Years Employed by Kent County: 10 years.
The hardest thing I’ve ever done: Besides answering this questionnaire???!!! In all seriousness, probably dealing with the passing of my grandmother. She was a huge influence on my life while growing up. She instilled the importance of God, family and to always remember to try to treat others with kindness.
Three people (living or dead) I’d invite to dinner: My grandparents (both have passed) and my husband.
You’d be surprised to learn that: I am a huge University of Michigan football fan. (Yes even during these past few coaches)...
The thing that I like most about working for Kent County is: My job allows me to do something different almost every day. Most days I am assigned to the courthouse, but there are some days I get to go on transports. I have the pleasure of working with great people (most especially) my partners, judicial staff and the public every day.
Please join us in congratulating Nicole Minnick for earning Kent County’s Employee Recognition for Quality Service Award.
If you know a Kent County employee who is deserving of this recognition, please complete a nomination form at www.accesskent.com/qualityservice or on the Kent County intranet.
"Abraham Lincoln once said: 'With public trust we can do anything. Without it we can do nothing.' It is in that light that I view public service -- especially at the local level -- as the most honorable of callings."
