Educational Services

The Kent County Animal Shelter provides educational presentations on bite prevention, responsible pet ownership, and animal control in Kent County to schools and community groups free of charge.

The Bite Prevention and Responsible Pet Ownership presentations are especially good for children, and can be adapted for children of different ages. Presentations may be delivered by an Animal Control Officer or a Public Health Educator and include a live pet demonstration with a gentle and trained dog, which audience members may pet.

The Animal Control in Kent County presentation includes an overview of the Kent County Animal Shelter, its services and policies. Especially suited to neighborhood associations and other community groups, this presentation helps explain how animal control works in your community.
