What does WIC Provide?

High Risk Nutrition Counseling

Registered Dietitians are available to provide individualized high risk nutrition counseling for participants with special medical conditions or nutrition-related health issues. 

Please contact your local WIC office if you would like to meet with one of our nutrition counselors.  

Clients may see the RD on request for any reason or may be referred by a WIC nurse

It is highly recommended that the following clients see the RD for help with:

Pregnant Women

Weight loss
Low weight gain
Nausea and vomiting
Gestational Diabetes
High blood pressure
Other conditions requiring more specific dietary recommendations

Children

Weight loss
Low weight gain
Picky eaters
New diagnosis of food allergies
Conditions requiring a nutritional supplement
Other conditions requiring more specific dietary recommendations

Infants

Weight loss
Low weight gain
Requiring a special formula
Problems with chewing or swallowing
Struggling with new textures
Other conditions requiring more specific dietary recommendations
